When did you and did you are all use training pants for potty learning. DS is starting to go on the potty once and a while when we put him there. We still use diapers round the clock and I was wondering if maybe training pants would help. He knows when he has to go at least some of the time. Do you recommend any particular kind of training pants? We are thinking daytime use right now.

I like the thick ones from Wally, I'm sure they are Gerber, or the like. I'm NOT a fan of pullups, at all.

As for when? When there was moderate success of hitting the potty often, we used those. And expected accidents, but feeling wet got my girls to the potty faster.

We are still hit or miss but there are times during the day when we go to change him and he is fairly dry. It's been days since he has tried the potty. We offer and he usually says "no". I remind him he can earn a sticker by using the potty and he still says "no". So I leave it at that. I do not want to use the pull ups either, at least not on a daily basis. Maybe for longer car trips where potty's are few and far between.

We didn't use any at all. Ds ran around the house naked, and then we transitioned to underwear.

We had a few trip where I would just pad his underwear a little, in case of an accident.

If I were home with him all day I'd go the naked route too.

we just went to regular panties...we do pull ups (disposables) at night and LLLOONNGGG car trips or to the park (no potty). we use the walmart brand.

I use pull-ups because my daughter can't figure out yet how to take them off. (Diapers come off too easily- the fifteen month old has already figured out how to open the sides.) For potty training they are kind of useless.

I bought training pants for my oldest son, but I don't know that they helped at all. If he didn't make it to the bathroom in time, they were flooded anyway.

Naked is what worked for us. Of course this is not going to work all the time.

We just did naked time when we were home with him. I was off for the big chunk of it, but it didn't stop up from getting out and going places. We would throw a diaper on when we were out, and be naked at home.
