Okay I had no idea it was this good. I've seen so many get excited about this show. So I pulled up the first season online.

It is awesome. I guess I have a lot to catch up on. Ought to keep me busy for a while as I have a few seasons to catch up on LOL

Most definately get caught up, if you try to jump in now, you'll have no idea what's going on and possibly give it up, it is far too good a show for that. I have been a faithful watcher from the beginning and we now religiously meet up with folks every Thursday, for dinner, wine ( no more for me however :) ) and Lost. I will be heartbroken after this Thrusday when the season finale airs and I have to wait until September for my next fix.

I went crazy looking for Lost when I first started watching it. I went to the library, but they never had the discs in that I needed. So I just went out and rented them all. Locked myself in my room for a few days, lol. My sister got me the 1st season for my birthday,and I let her borrow it, she is now hooked. Still trying to get my mom and other sister to give it a shot,but they're just not interested.

The reason there is such a long break is that the creators decided it is better to run one long but unbroken season, rather than spead it out over the fall- spring seasons with numerous breaks in the show.

There were tons of fan complaints the first 3 seasons over the numerous breaks in the network full season schedule. That sort of schedule makes following an intensive serial like this very difficult.

The creators opted for a condensed season like "24" or the summer shows on the cable channels and - trust me - even though the break is a long one the format is SO much better.

Additionally, there was a huge improvement in quality after they switched to this format. I don't know if it's due to the extended break that allows more time for creative development, or if it's due to the agreement with the networks to set a definite end for the show at season 7- probably a combination of both. You may notice that the quality of the show went in the shitter from the midpoint of season 2 through the midpoint of season 3. Fortunately they recovered and season 4 is back to the original excellence of season 1.

Think of it this way, you have plenty of time to catch up on the first 4 seasons.

Just finished season one. Others, hatch blown, Boone dead, heroine found by junkie and who the hell kidnaps a kid on an island. All questions to be discover in next season I'm sure.

I for some crazy reason thought I would be caught up to season four so I could enjoy it with all the rest of the fans here, but alas I will have to enjoy it on my own. I will be there in Jan 2009 assuming it doesn't become boring (Ha Ha Ha)

I will not watch it...I refuse..I've been tempted since abc put up all the back episodes..I really don't need another show to try to keep up with. I just started watching Weeds on Netflix. Maybe after that's all done and I have nothing else to do at 2am at work I might force myself to start in..if I do get sucked in I'll COMPLETLY blame you!

LOL EJglamMOM. Should I apologize now or after I tell you that the guys are actually really cute now that I know their characters.

The best part of watching online is I can force the commercials in the beginning and then watch the whole thing with no interruptions except from DD.

MB, it does get drawn out and not as good after the first season or two but when it came back this last season it makes it all worth it and it. This past season and it's episodes are the best ones imo. They renewed all my Lost enthusiasm
