This week is our chance to get to know carterandcalliesmom better!!
Here's how POTW works:
It runs from Monday to Monday so when it is your turn to be POTW you will be in the spotlight for a whole week.
Everyone can ask questions and it is up to the POTW to decide if they would like to answer them. Some questions may be too personal and that is fine - you don't have to answer everything.
This thread is not an appropriate forum to settle old scores or to flame. Do not bait the POTW with questions that bring up past transgressions. Please spin-off if you feel the need but let's keep this thread fun and supportive.
On Friday of each week I will PM the current POTW and ask them to choose the next person. The POTW can choose anyone who asked a question on their thread that week and someone, preferably, who has not been chosen in the past year. If you do not wish to be POTW you can still ask questions, just let the current POTW know that you do not want to be chosen for the next week (for instance, you will be out of town).

What brought you to BFDC?
What keeps you here?
How long have you been here?
Any early influences by particular posters?

What brought you to BFDC? My boss actually told me about it because I was always asking her so many questions - I guess she shouldn't have done that cause now I am here instead of working - he he! Also, other than her, my other boss, and my sister, I know no one IRL who breastfeeds so it feels lonely sometimes!
What keeps you here? ongoing bfeeding questions - socialization! and support of course!
How long have you been here? 2006
Any early influences by particular posters? Not that I can think of
ETA: Just wanted to add I am such a loser I was soooo excited to be picked and kept checking on here since I was - LOL!

Don't feel bad. My stomach fell into my feet when I read the title for the POTW. I understand. LOL!
Is there anything about your childhood you would change and why?
Is there anything you regret doing/not doing?
Where would you go for your dream vacation?

Is there anything about your childhood you would change and why? I would have been more of a child instead of worrying about things I shouldn't have had to until I was an adult.
Is there anything you regret doing/not doing? I regret spending (wasting)12 yrs of my life on eating disorders - esp. in high school- I regret not having had any fun and being too serious about everything! I could go on and on, but I remind myself that hardships are what have made me the strong woman I am today.
Where would you go for your dream vacation?Honestly, I have no idea-somewhere warm though!

So, what is your EDD?
Are you finding out the sex of the baby?
Tell me something special about each of your DC?
Do you have any aspirations?
carterandcalliesmom

So, what is your EDD? don't know yet- LOL-find out at the u/s on Friday
Are you finding out the sex of the baby? not sure yet-I would like to be surprised this time, but DH wants to know so I am thinking maybe he can know, but not me. We will see!
Tell me something special about each of your DC? This one is hard because there are so many :) Carter is my fun and wild boy. His moods are extreme from ticked off/frustrated to very excited/happy. He keeps me on my toes and keeps life exciting. He is the most coordinated 2 year old boy I have ever met (I think he can play sports better than my DH can, but shhh, you didn't hear that) Callie is calm and easygoing. She is happy go lucky almost all the time. She really is my little sunshine
Do you have any aspirations? I used to want to have a successful, high paying career - then life happened - now all I want out of life is for my kids to grow up happy and healthy - boring I know, but that is what I want the most. I do aspire to become a professional photographer someday - hopefully soon - in the pro bono stage right now though

You must go on tour with a band for a year (kids with you, with help, etc.), who would it be and why?
Fantasy Island: pick 5 people (living or dead) whom you would like to get to know.
Fancy schmancy matching bras and panties or 'find one that's clean'?

Red, you have me stumped - LOL. I really don't even know of any bands :( It would be a Christian band, but I have no idea who. I listen to the songs on the radio, but never hear who it is half the time! Not sure if Steven Curtis Chapman is a band or a solo artist, but I would love to meet his family
That kinda answers the second one.
I am going to come back to the second question!
Fancy schmancy matching bras and panties (although that is rare because my top is huge - apparently the fashion industry can't make sexy matching ensembles for larger busted women - or they assume if you are large on top you are also large on bottom!

Let's talk about music, what do you have in your CD player right now?
What is the most embarrassing CD you own?
What was the first musical concert you attended?
What was the last musical concert you attended?
Do you sing in the shower? If so, what do you sing?
Do you sing to your children? If so, what do you sing?

Let's talk about music, what do you have in your CD player right now? Uh, this is pretty sad - I haven't changed my cd in the player for about a year now - totally forgot all about it. Anyway, I have Taylor Swift in the jeep cd player and Beverly Mitchell (she played on 7th Heaven) at my work one
What is the most embarrassing CD you own? Well, it is more my DH's, but Who let the dogs out? Not sure of the artist. No, wait, how about the Carpenters? I get made fun of for that - LOL
What was the first musical concert you attended? Jaci Velasquez - christian singer
What was the last musical concert you attended? Reba and Kelly - unless Blue Man Group counts - they were the last
Do you sing in the shower? If so, what do you sing? Don't have a shower, but I do sing in the car and well, basically anywhere and everywhere.
Do you sing to your children? If so, what do you sing? I sing to my kids - anything and everything, but mostly kid songs like Twinkle Twinkle, You are my Sunshine, Five Little Monkeys, etc. - I sometimes sing their books to them too
Thanks for the questions NN :)

I am going back to Red's question on five people I would want to meet. (It made me realize I don't think about stuff like that anymore and I need to "dream" more!)
Anyway, first and foremost, I would like to meet my deceased aunt. My mom has nothing, but good things to say about her. She was murdered by her husband and that is one of the reasons I work in the domestic violence field. I just have always felt some kind of connection to her esp since my mom says I remind her of her at times. I just feel like I really missed out - :(
Secondly, I would like to meet Martina McBride - she has done a lot for domestic violence as far as charity work - would LOVE for her to perform a charity concert for our area, but that would never happen in our rinky dink county - but, I can dream :)
Third, I would like to meet an author - not sure which one though - just one that I can discuss books with.
Fourth/Fifth, I would like to meet the ladies in my birth board - they all seem like so much fun and I feel so close to them even though we have never met.

How about some serious questions? What is your position on circumcision?
Are you pro life or pro choice~ please explain:
Do you vaccinate on a traditional schedule?
Do you think you are crunchy? Tell me why:
Are you poo free?
What are your thoughts on assisted suicide?

Oh, wow, this is hard. I know you want me to answer one way or another, but I have never been that way. I can see both sides on almost every single issue there is other than domestic violence, child abuse, or things of that sort.
As far as circumcision, I never even thought about it until recently when my sister's son got his botched. I feel incredibly stupid for just consenting because I thought it was what everyone did. I never stopped to think about the pros or cons :( This time around if it is a boy I am going to do the research before I make the decision.
As for abortion I feel a woman has the right to choose, but I would prefer for a woman to give the baby up for adoption rather than abort it. In respect to those who have been raped I feel I have no right to say either way unless I personally had been in that situation. I would like to think I would carry the baby, but I can't really say that if I haven't been there, KWIM?
Ok, maybe I am living on another planet, but I don't understand the next two questions (:blush2:
As for assisted suicide I am against it for the most part - I don't think anyone has the right to intervene. (however, if I were terminally ill and in tremendous pain, I would probably feel differently)
Sorry those are probably not the answers you want!
Forgot the vaccination thing: Always on schedule - I didn't even know I had a choice, I thought vaccines were required - I really AM living on another planet!

Poo free means shampoo free and there are those that believe you can be healthier without chemicals in your hair. Not me, I'm a Pert girl! Not me either - Biolage is my fav

What is your favorite piece of clothing, and why? right now my shoes because all my clothes are too big or too small from gaining and losing so much weight over the past 2-3 years
What was your favorite subject in school? Least favorite? Most fav was spelling - tied with reading and least was a tie between science and social studies - oh, hated history too - I was all about the liberal arts
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? Well, in first grade I wanted to work at McDonalds - snort :) Then I wanted to be a librarian (if that meant I could read all day I still would, but I have read up on the requirements to be a librarian and let me tell you, NO FUN! :)
What is the hobby you do most often? photography and digital scrapbooking
What hobby would do you more if you had more time? read
What is your favorite book? Don't have a favorite, but really like books by Jodi Picoult
