I went to West Virginia this weekend to watch my baby brother graduate from high school. I am so proud of him and so happy he did it!!! It was a beautiful ceremony, and all the kids were so happy to be graduated. Still it was very bittersweet as 3 young girls who were supposed to graduate (and a fourth who was an alumni) on sunday didn't. They passed away in March due to a terrible car accident. My brother knew them all very well. They had three empty chairs at the ceremony with roses in them for the girls. I can't find the article to show you, but this is on you tube so I thought I would share.
Hold your children tight, give them love, and let them know you are proud of them. I am so proud of my brother for being strong, and going on to graduate in the wake of such a profound loss. He had tears in his eyes as we left the field, I know he was thinking of them all.
