What is the going rate for babysitting?

Scenario - My 13 year old cousin will be watching Piper (20 months) and Daley (almost 4) on Saturday starting around 7 AM. This is her first babysitting job.
She will be watching them at her house. Her mom and 3 other siblings will be there. She'll probably have them for about 6 hours.

What is the going rate for babysitting? Should she be paid less or more because of the scenario?

We pay $5 an hour for both kids. DS is 6 and DD is 9 months...the only usual sitter we have is my younger sister, who is 21. She has no job so we try to help her out as much as we can financially:)

I would think $5 an hour is fair. I think I was paid $2-3 for two young kids back in the day when I started babysitting.

We've piad 6/hour per kid. Whe I had a mother's helper it was 5 dollars an hour per child.

Wow, I think that is really high. I could see $5-7 for both. $10 an hour is a lot. I mean, that's great for your kid and all but thinking of the parent paying I would be finding other means of childcare. We just couldn't afford $5 a kid.

I want to say when my dsd was in daycare we paid about $250.00 a week for fulltime care at a facility. That is close to $5 an hour per child, but that is also at a liscensed facility not a young family member, KWIM?

Wow, I havent had a babysitter for my girls yet, but when I was sitting in our town we got paid 1.00/hr/kid.

$20 a day/evening, or $5.00 an hour for both kids.

We pay $6-7/hr for both kids. Their ages 11 and 9. My oldest dd is getting too "old" for a babysitter(her words). I leave her and dd alone for 1-2 hours but I'm scared to leave them at night.

I was thinking of doing 40 dollars which would work out to 8 dollars an hour that she'll have them both. Maybe I'll do 30 instead.
