I am all over white this year. I have white shorts (and I otherwise kinda hate shorts), two pair of white capris (or really long shorts, I guess), white pants to wear w/ flats, and white pants to wear w/ heels. Even a new white purse.

The newest additions to my wardrobe are handbags. In addition to the white, I got a mustardy yellow, and a crayola green one. I'm loading pics right now.

I just bought three pairs of pedal pushers and one pair of shorts from American Eagle Outfitters today. I got a couple of graphic t's too. I am also loving the tube tops out this year (not the tight, belly baring ones, but the ones that are flowey after the "tube" part). I like the pedal pushers because they are longer than bermudas but shorter than most capris and not short like short shorts which I can't wear. The short lengths have been funky this year. Bermudas, IMO, look horrible on most people. The way they cut you off right at the knee makes most people look dumpy.

I realize that these bags may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I adore a splash of color w/ my outfits.

This is the white one. It's patent, but I don't know if you can tell in the pic.

Here is the green one.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/BeachMama/IMG_2295.jpg

And this is the yellow one, which looks shinier and more mustardy in the pic than IRL. It's actually a pretty soft (faux) leather, IRL.

RTL...I am pretty picky about the length of my "shorts" too. They either have to hit right above my knee (and even then, if they're not the right cut, they won't work) or right below. Hitting AT my knee is an awful length for me. I'm not a fan of shorter shorts, but I have two pair that I'll wear this summer (white and army green).

I'm with you on all of that. The pedal pushers I have are right below the knee. I tried on some that were right above the knee, but because of the fit I hated them (they were kind of tight). The one pair I ended up with that were a shorter length were a little looser and sort of a khaki color.

BeachMama

I got these shorts recently too. They hit just above my knee.

I'd have to see the first and 2nd pairs on to know if I liked them, but I love the third and fourth pairs. Super cute.

Those plaid ones above are in need of new shoes. LOL. I am thinking a tan colored leather flip flop. I tried them on w/ my dark brown Old Navy cheap flip flops and they look funny. Too dark, I think. Maybe something like these...

So far, I got two print tops that are hard to describe. They are sleeveless but not tank tops, but the bodice portion (where the breasts go) is that smocked stretchy stuff while the rest is free flowing. I bought one, and liked it so much I went back and got the other color. One is white with blue and brown and black print, the other is white with beige and red print.

I'll wear them to work with either dress pants or dress capris.

The second ones are super cute on. They make me look thinner, even dh noticed it. I'm wearing them right now with a tube top I got from Target. The first pair are cute on too, but mostly I got them because they are really comfy and practical for what I'm going to be doing this summer (running around with kids).

Mimi...I loooove that purse!!

I think I had the smocked/flowy tops you guys are describing when I was pg w/ Oscar. Mine had straps that you could remove or keep attached (due to boobage I had to keep them attached, lol).

Hamm...my legs look a lot like yours! Only mine are in need of a tan. Is that a scar on your knee? Because I have a scar that looks exactly like that on my left knee.

I'm seeing those tops again everywhere. They were popular like 4 years ago. I guess they are back. They make me look pregnant though.
I could only sport that look when I was pregnant. I guess because that is the only time my boobs don't look so big (because something else is actually bigger). I had a top like that when I was pg w/ Oscar, so about 2.5-3 years ago. It's funny how things make big circles (like vintage stuff) and then how others make small circles, like every 5 years or so. Sometimes even less.

xobehs...those tops are really cute!

I don't wear a lot of white because I can't stay clean. Between my dogs, my preschooler and my general clumsiness, white doesn't last. I love the look of crisp white linen but I rarely risk it.

I'm into shoes and accessories again. I haven't liked much of anything out this past year but I am finally liking what's coming out for fall. I am already shopping ahead for accessories of all kinds- bags, jewelry, glasses, you name it.

Ok, I like these and can see loving & wearing these for many years since they are an instant classic:

I could do a lot with these:

I like the giant size and the fresh color:
http://www.neimanmarcus.com/products/mn/NMD9480_mn.jpg

I can't bring myself to actually buy any new bags. I have every style and color, big totes to tiny clutches. I can't find anything out there I like that isn't close to something I already have. I just need to actually rotate my bags.

You bag lovers should check out baghaus.com. It's a goldmine.

I shouldn't have opened this - makes me want to go find some pedal pushers!
Anywhere else sell them other than American Eagle? I hardly ever see them - everything is either really long or really short (or bermuda). I LOVE pedal pushers and think they make me look slimmer too for some reason!

As for what I have purchased: I just went to Maurices the other day and got a bunch of tops - I couldn't find any bottoms :( I have this problem where everything is tight in my waist and super big in the butt and thighs - I totally lost my butt after having kids, but gained another person in the waist LOL.
I got a deep purple tank- kind of a scoop tank, but not real low like some are - has silver beading across the top - a black jacket - I suck at trying to describe this stuff so I am not even gonna try - then I got some babydoll type tank tops - yes I look preggo, but I guess that is okay since I am :)

Now that I am gonna be a SAHM I can wear all this fun stuff!! Love those shorts you got Beachmama - sorry, where did you say you got them? I like the plaid shorts like that, but never know what to wear with them.
Oh, and I did get a really cute pair of hot pink/white wedged canvas shoes from Wallyworld - only $10.42!!

ETA: I really want a cute summer dress, but I am short and have baby belly - also big boobs so it cannot be something strappy that i cannot wear a bra with - any suggestions?

I too have a thick waist in comparison to the rest of my body, except for I'm not pregnant! LOL. I also have huge boobs. I shop a LOT at Ross. I am limited (locally) to Ross, Fred Meyer, JC Penney (the worlds smallest, probably), Maurices and crazy expensive boutiques.

I generally have to try on a bazillion things to find one that fits. I think a babydoll or empire waist style sundress would look cute on a pregnant belly.

I got my plaid shorts at Ross and I plan on wearing them w/ a shirt shirt (tank, tee, or hoodie, depending on the weather) and khaki flip flops.

I rarely grocery shop. I let dh do it. I live in a small town, so a jaunt over to a clothin store is pretty quick. I often have dh watch the kids on one of his days off for a few hours so I can go shopping by myself. If I don't get 'me' time I go crazy.

Does anyone have a Heritage store near them? I have been having the most difficult time buying tops that don't cling to my middle. I am fairly thin but thicker in the middle so I hate the style from the past few years. I was in search of pretty plain tees and I found the best tops ever. They were only like 15.00 and have great small details like a small amount of smocking or a small ruffle (sounds ugly but I don't know how else to describe it) at the neckline and or sleeves. They have a lot of other vintage inspired items but my breast are too big to fit in a lot of them.

I looked but they don't have a website. Apparently Heritage and Forever21 are the same company. From what I can figure out there are stores in CA, Philly, Mall of America in MN and one in Bethesda, MD.

My very last fashion purchase was a pair of ultra low rise boot cut jeans (they fit so perfectly, I'm so excited!), some dangle earrings and a set of bangles with a few charms. I've been looking for the perfect pair of jeans for the last week and there was always a problem with the ones I tried on (either my hips looked huge, my ass looked flat, the jeans were too long or something else that didn't make me wanna buy them), then I found the perfect ones for only 30 dollars.
