View Full Version : painting your toenails

I LOVE to have my toenails painted, but I simply can't reach them too well because I'm fat :(

Any suggestions? They end up looking like a six year old did it, and I use toe separators and everything.

Getting a pedicure is not an option, I can't afford them.

When I was pg I had my dh do them for me.

I paint my toenails all the time since manicures on my fingernails are usless. Being 31 weeks along it hasn't been easy but it's just taken some creative manuevering.

DH does mine for me, but not very often. I'm not super picky about having my nails done all the time, but since summer is pretty much here, I think I'm gonna bug him to do it again.

Can you put one foot on your opposite knee and kind of paint them sideways? Or can you put them up on the counter in the bathroom?

I sat on the edge of the bathtub and propped my foot up on a stool. It wasn't easy but it was easier, KWIM?

I had my mom do mine for me when I was PG. Now I can reach but DD likes to do them for me.

Either have a friend do it or go to your nearest beauty school..services there are generally pretty damn cheap.

Awww. If you were closer I'd do them for you. I remember how hard pregnancy it on feet.

I did get my DH to give me a couple pedicures as I was very nervous about labor getting started because of the foot massages. I had confidence he would not hit the wrong pressure points.

Thanks, lol. I'm not pregnant, just fat. Never could reach my feet very well. My DH has done it a couple of times but his hands aren't very steady with it. Maybe he'll get better with practice :D

I can't afford pedicures either but this year for my birthday, I had my very first pedicure and it was awesome. Even if you can't afford to have it done all the time, I think that you should splurge at least once or twice a year. For now on every year when dh asks what I want for my birthday I am going to say a pedicure. A birthday cake will just go to your thighs but a pedicure will make you feel great.
