We're just sitting here in the living room minding our own biz when we hear a knock on the door and before we can even stand up in walks a cop. I look at him and look at Nathan like ummm, wtf is going on?

The cop looks around and says, "Is there another officer in here?"

We said no and he looks all confused, and says, "Isn't this < our house number >?"

We said yes, but there's no other cop in here. We did hear some yelling going on at the place beside us though.

He says, "Oh it must be them then, but they have it down as < our house number >. Sorry about that."

And he walks out.

Heh...

Indeed, I want to know how he looked in that uniform! :D

I must add that there's a new deputy in town that is MIGHTY fine. I was pulled over and given a warning and oh boy....if Farmer Red and the kids hadn't been in the van, I'd have done something rash, just to get patted down for a weapon. ;)

Sorry to let ya ladies down, but no, he was the exact opposite of cute. He was actually shorter than me, probably weighs 130lbs soaking wet. I went to high school with him and well, I was a dork in HS and he was even dorkier than me lol.

I would have been VERY not happy had that happened in my home. What if you were naked? Or your kids were? Or what if you were getting sexy time on the couch? Seriously....wtf?

Another reason to LOCK THE DOOR.

Great minds Ginger. There's an officer in my town that can cuff me any day.

I once had some EMTs come bursting in my apt. They run into the living room where I was nursing Becca on the couch. I looked up and said Umm Can I help you. They look at me confused and ask if I am having trouble breathing. I say no and they ask if I am J***** D***** I say no she is across the hall and the they run out.

Turns out that she was having trouble breathing and was home alone and told them to just come in. I started looking my door after that.

LOL. I have to have to door locked, and toddler latched, or the small people will escape.

But a cop came by last summer and said, "Do you have a problem?"

I said, "Ummm, no." Thinking, why, are you doing a preventive check on everyone in the neighborhood?

Turns out the (then) 2 year old had dialed 911. And hung up when I walked in the room.

Fortunately the (tall and handsome) officer seemed pretty sure that everyone was okay.

Wow talk about a startle. Too bad he wasn't hot..

My grandma had EMT's break down her door while she was sleeping. My grandpa was in the hospital and not really all with it. He picked up the phone and somehow got connected to 911(not quite sure how he did that without pushing the extension out unless the hospital operator switched him over to 911) He told the 911 operator that he was having a heart attack and gave them his name and home address. Grandma didn't hear them ring the doorbell and they busted down the door. The hospital ended up having to pay for the damages and replaced the door.

This is an odd situtation. 911 has a location identification system that will ID the place the call is made from (unless it is a cell phone), I don't see why the hospital was responsible at all.

I'd be on the phone compaining to the mayor, chief of police, my congressman, gov, senator, attorney general and anyone else that occurred to me is a cop just waked in to my house.

We lock the doors 24/7 out of Canadian paranoia.

Amen to this.

No cop is going to just walk into my house.

We had the police show up once at our house. They didn't just walk in, but we were like WTF? Turns out our toddler, at the time, had dialed 911 and when they tried to call back there was no answer because the ringer on the phone had been turned off. We had no idea it had happened. He still had to come in and make sure everything was okay.

There's a cop in my town who sometimes walks into our house when I am naked and does naughty things to me. He's hot, though, so I don't mind.

Really, Tata? Even if it were the hot one I posted a pic of? ;)

I would be freaked out if an unknown cop just walked right into my house too. It's weird to me that the mistake was made, but I'm assuming it was an emergency he was responding to, so I can see how he'd just knock and walk in. Honest mistake. Heck, I've had strangers walk into my apartment, not realizing they weren't 2 doors down.

Hell yeah, girl, even if he was fine :p I don't like strangers letting themselves in to my place. I'd be all http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c298/tatasmagik/Smiley/rollingpin.gif

Yeah, I can understand some people being pissed off about it. The guy seemed so confused and embarrassed by it that I couldn't get all worked up over it. I went to high school with him and I could tell that he was really humiliated by the whole ordeal. I felt bad for the poor guy and couldn't bring myself to make a stink over it and humiliate him even more. It was an honest mistake and he apologized - no harm done.

I was kidding, Tata. I don't want strangers walking into my house either. But I think he made an honest mistake. If he were called out to a domestic or something, you don't wait for them to answer the door. Unfortunately he just had the wrong door all together.

My cat called the cops once. I was a teen and had just bought one of those fancy new phones at the time where you could program numbers in. Like a dumbass I programed in 911. The cat knocked the reciever off the hook and hit the button. Cops were at the house around 2am and had to search the whole house. I felt like a real idiot when we figured out what happened.
