if you wanna know....
I put in my notice at work - my last day is June 13th. I feel sad, but incredibly happy at the same time - I just feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. I loved working with domestic violence victims, but it was taking a huge toll on me. I got burnout and I wasn't giving it my all anymore - plus I felt like there was nothing left to give when I got home - I think I can now focus better on being Mommy. I am pursuing my photography and have some clients lined up already - yeah!! I am doing something that makes me sooo incredibly happy! I am worried about not having steady income, but I know it will all work out. I have a ton of stuff I can sell on ebay to get us by until I have a more steady income from the photography.
I had my ultrasound on Friday also - little peanut was just barely an inch long - I am only 10 weeks (tomorrow), but I had thought I was 12 or 13 weeks (goes to show you that LMP is really not reliable if you are like me with super long cycles) So, my due date is December 30th- they want to do the section no later than one week before - I really don't want to be in the hospital for Christmas - I am hoping they will let me wait until December 26th because I had Callie on my due date and never went into labor - never did with Carter either, but we will see. I hate having to pick a date - yes, it is convenient, but I want my baby born when he/she is supposed to be I guess.
So, that is it for now.

You are in charge, not the doctors. They don't "let" you do anything. If you don't want to have your section before the 26th, say so and if they give you a hard time, find new doctors ASAP.
I hate reading stuff like this. It makes me worry for women everywhere. Take your power back, you are not a child and a doctor is not an authority figure. They don't call the shots- YOU DO.

Exactly what TW said. Doctors work for you, not the other way around.
I was due Dec. 25th with ds, and the last thing I wanted was to be in the hospital for xmas. My OB was really good about working with me so that didn't happen. I had ds (because my water was leaking) Dec. 20 and I was home in time to spend xmas morning with my daughter.
Good luck with everything!

I'm glad things are going well for you! And I'm with TW as well, you're the boss, the consumer, the one paying them. Of course, you're with them for medical advice, but you still have a say in things. If you don't feel that you have any choices or a voice in the matter, perhaps a different practice may be in order?

I am going to speak up about it - it was just my first apt. so I didn't really have any questions, but I am definitely going to ask. I did let him know that I did not go into labor with either of my kids and that I was scheduled to have Callie on her due date. He said something about we should be good then - meaning maybe that he isn't as worried about me going into labor on my own? Anyway, this is the 3rd Dr. I have gone to now (4 if you count that I had an OB and surgeon for the c-section). I am really hoping to not have to switch again as then I would have to drive an hour and a half.

I know how you feel. I left my job in March after working for my company for 5 1/2 years. I loved my job and coworkers, but I was burned out and reached my breaking point. Although I miss the sense of accomplishment, stimulation, and interaction, I've never looked back. I love being home with Billy, and I think all 3 of us are better off now, even though we're down one income.
That's wonderful that you're getting into the photography more. I'd love to make a business of scrapbooking, but don't think it would be profitable.
Congrats again on the pregnancy. How are you feeling so far?

(First, wow - i was finally able to log in - it's been awhile!!!)
OMG, I didn't know you were pg again! congratulations!
And good luck with your business! I know what you mean about not having a steady income. I'm in a similar situation with my job, but it's not voluntary, lol. They are doing a lot of outsourcing at my company, and I'll probably be unemployed soon. I'm not fretting though, like you said - I'm not giving it my all and I don't have much left at the end of the day to give my family. It's frightening staring in the face of the unknown, but all in all, it will work out.

Thank you everyone for your kind words of support and encouragement!
Boobles: I hope everything does work out for you - with budget cuts being so rampant, I think my job would have been cut eventually anyway.
Billysmom: Scrapbooking can be profitable if you find the right customers - it is hard because of shipping prices in my opinion - I have had lots of people tell me they wish someone would just scrap for them because they don't have time (if I hadn't found digital scrapbooking I would say the same! :) I am feeling great for the most part - extremely tired, but the nausea is mostly gone - hallelujah! Knock on wood though - the nausea lasted on and off (mostly on) throughout both of my first pregnancies. Thanks so much for asking!
WTB: How the heck have you been? Miss ya! :)
