I dont know what to do.

I went to the ER last night..... Monday my throat started to close, well not really, the taste buds on my throat are VERY swollen, they are getting so big they are interfering with swallowing and breathing.

I went to the Dr. on Mon. she thought it was viral, nothing you can do. It kept getting worse and worse, so last night we went to the er. the dr drew blood and did a strep screen and everything came back fine... he said nothing we can do, come in if your throat closes up.

Well its even worse today. I have been taking 600mg of IBprofin a day, and that does nothing for the swelling. I dont know what to do.

Any advice?

Are you having difficulty breathing? If so, go to the ER ASAP.

Could it be an allergic reaction? What you described in the OP sounds exactly like what happens to me when I eat bananas.

I just got a call from the ER, They did a strep screen on Friday, it is strep but group c rather then b. They are going to put me on the Z pac.

I am so happy they found out what it is.
