Midwife Assistant or Doula

As all of you know DD graduated from high school. She is thinking about Midwife assistant or Doula.

I am not real sure where to get info about these. We have googled alot but not really sure where to start. We are in the DFW area. She would like to stay around here.



Any info would be great.

She should contact local homebirth midwives and ask about apprenticing. They might recommend some women's health classes.

As far as being a doula, both DONA and ALACE are certifying bodies, she could check their websites for what they recommend for preparation for certification.

Neither of those are careers that one can just go to college and get a degree, KWIM?
