I've been on domp for 5 months and i feel like the effectiveness is decreasing. i have had breast surgery and have had supply issues from the start of bfing. my DD is now 6.5 months old and is 25th %ile for weight (15 lbs) but hasnt gained anything in the past two weeks. (her head cirum and length are 75th percentile) i feel my supply is way down. i was wondering if i should try reglan to see if it would have an effect bc it's a different drug. do you know if it works by the exact same mechanism or not? do you think it would be a good idea? i have tried everythign else to stimulate supply and i pump after feedings with medela symphony. i take the herbs. i am desperate to continue bf and i am scared that it is over for me. recently i can also pupm a lot less (5 oz first in mroning instead of 8) and after the first monring pumping i get only 1-3 oz per session and that is pumping instead of feeding (this is on days when i work). i do also pump after feedings on days i am with babe, to inc supply. soryr if i seem scattered. i feel so anxious and worried. i love bfing.

I like for babies to double their weight in 4 months. She was not far off.

Have you checked out www.lowmilksupply.com ? It has great info. Check out Shatavari--many are reporting a better supply with this than domperidone.

i dont know where to get it shatavari but i read the link you sent me, thank you.

i am so stressed out about my milk supply. it's like i have a pit in my stomach and i am not sleeping or able to function.

do you think now that she is 6.5 months, that i could nurse her just on my right side and let my left side be used just for pumping?

my letdown reflex in the left breast is damaged so i can only get letdown when the right side lets down therefore i can only nurse her from it when she starts on the right side and i quikcly switch her to the left once it lets down.
even then, it will not give me a subsequent let down so it is only a small amt of milk (the first initial letdown) that it produces.

is it okay that she hasnt gained weight in 2.5 weeks? sorry for the bunch of q..i am just really upset

It is fine to feed off just one breast and pump the other. Can you lie down and feed during the day some and at night? The link will show you where to get the shatavari.

Is she happy and content? If so, don't worry about her weight.
