Hi, I'm not really sure how this works...I understand there is a lactation consultant scheduled for right now..? I have a 7 1/2 mth old son who has roseola (pretty sure) or maybe measles right now. He has been sick since first light Friday and is therefore not nursing well at all. I'm doing my best to keep fluids into him but I'm afraid he will mees up my supply and then when he is better he will be out of luck. So far we have a very successful breastfeeding histroy and my body has responded well to the ebbs and flows but this is his longest sort of "strike". Am I worrying for nothing or is there anything I can do? I have pumped a little but he has rarley been feeling well enough these last few days for me to sit down and pump so I have only managed once this morning. Thanks in advance for any assistance, Natasha

Hello , I am Debbie Page and I am a lactation consultant. Pumping is definitely a great way to keep up your supply while he is sick. Even if you pump every hour for a few hours when daddy is home to help you. However, the body is so marvelous that once he's well and wanted to nurse like crazy your supply will come right back up!!

Great. Relax and enjoy this brief period of babyhood. Your breastmilk is so wonderful for him. What a fabulous mother you are!!
