I am trying to do whatever to make more milk so I won't have to put my baby on formula... I am already pumping off one breast while he eats and pumping when I drive home and pumping on my way to work... I got all these ideas in various articles... My question is... Is it better to make 3-4 10 minute breaks (5 minutes on each breast) or is it better to take 2 20-30 minute breaks and let ALL the milk extract?

I would say pumping to completely empty is better. That's what the Lit. says and that's generally what is recommended but you should do what works for you. Check out:

Do you pump hands free?

no it is a single one not hands free... It is battery operated or you can plug it in... I like to pump less often for more minutes because i have to use the bathroom here at work and it is kinda embarrassing walking in there with my "equipment" and coming out with my bag of milk... then everyone can hear the machine while they walk down the hall... I am pretty good at getting things set up when I get in the vehicle and just drive one handed... makes the time fly!

Cool, whatever works for you. I am sorry you have to pump in the bathroom. I commend you. You should be PROUD of what you are doing for your baby! Do not let others "make" you feel embarrased.

Thanks bunches... I just wanted to make sure i am able to keep my milk supply as long as possible. With my son (now 4) he nursed till he was almost 9 months old, my daughter (now 2.5) only nursed till she was 6 months old and I sure don't want to let this one go less then that. I am having lots of detaching problems since I had my tubes tied... So I don't want this one to have any formula and I want to be there for him ALL THE TIME! Thanks for the link...
