My son was born May 14, 2008 and is nursing totally different than my daughter. I nursed her for 13mths and did not experience anything like he is doing. My left side is the worse for him to nurse. I felt like he was not opening his mouth wide enough in the beginning so I was told by a lc to tease him more to teach him to open his mouth wider. I have been working on this and don't know if it is any better or not. I still have to flip his lips out after he latches on everytime, is this okay? When I am really full he has a hard time latching on and I usu. have to pump just to get that side soft. Is it okay to hold my breast during my nursing? I try to keep his head pushed into my breast, but he is still clicking and loosing his suction sometimes, thanks.

I am sorry you are having trouble. I would keep working with your LC (in person) if you find her helpful or try another. It should be easier by now.
It is difficult for baby to latch on to a full breast so hand expressing or pumping is ok.
Has baby been checked for a tight frenulum. Is he also gagging and when he comes off, is your milk spraying? This may be an overactive let down.
I'll reply back with some links after I answer a few more questions....
