Do breast shells work as good as just disposable breast pads... I have seen the avent ones that collect milk... that would be great for nursing/pumping sessions... my question is the other set that comes in the box... can you wear them daily and if you happen to have a "let down" while wearing them is it going to leak from them... if not this might be ideal for bathing suits this summer... we went on the boat the other day and here I am standing on the boat and all of a sudden these huge milk rings appear... well i can't wear "booby pads" cause they would just fill up... any ideas about these shells??

I've seen reviews that they do sometimes leak,
and that for some it puts enough pressure on the breast to get plugged ducts.
you could try them for short time swimsuit use I guess. or take a swimsuit cover up for those kinds of accidents. I have a mesh cover that looks just like a long sleeve open in the front shirt with no buttons, so it would kind of hide any unsightly puddles on the front of my swimsuit.

There's a product called Lily Padz which I've seen in maternity stores. I don't know how well they work, but it sounds like what you're looking for.

We have a hot tub, and I have a pair of Lily Padz that I use every time we get in it. They work great and never leak!

I have some of the avent breast shells. I thought they would be a life saver when I was engorged so I just had to have them. but they didn't work for me. I did not leak into them. I am not much of a leaker though. my boobs just keep filling up until I am engorged.

The hospital gave me some Medela breast shields b/c my nipples were so raw . I still use them b/c i have reoccurring clogged ducts, so the shields protect my nipples from rubbing against clothing.
I think they can still leak if you don't remember to empty the milk that collects. And I would be careful about them causing clogged ducts too. I can see how it can happen if you are wearing something too tight.

Mom's keep coming back for the LilyPadz in my Breastfeeding Boutique.
Try em out and let us know! The shells are so cumbersome and can leak.
The LilyPadz don't show under clothes either.
