Sage tea worked for me. I drank about 3 cups a day and in about a week and a half it was gone.

not to be nosy, but why have you had to give up nursing so early?

You might be producing some milk for quite some time, some mommas can even express a bit after a year or more. Don't try to squeeze some out ;). Sage helps. You can find it mostly in the spice section of a super market and you can brew a tea from it.
Just to be thorough though; if you have been told that you needed to wean because of medications, operations etc. you might have gotten the wrong advice. There is lots of info out there but most docs are not very versed in breastfeeding. If you *wanted* to continue breastfeed but were told to stop, you could opt to run the issue here and we would be able to give you hard core research info so that you can make an informed decision.

If you have milk, you could attempt to nurse only at night when you are with your baby and give formula during the day. it works for some babies, and mothers. My sister did it with her baby for 9 months.

Any chance you can regulate the shifts for a while? Like that you could try to bf the times you are with your baby and formula feed the times you are away.
In any case, sage helps and ice packs when you feel any pain, and hand expressing just a tad to relieve the pressure if you feel you need to be done.
