Well, I suppose Jack's actually been communicating with us all along, but he doesn't talk much. Most of his talking hasn't been directed at us really ever. We get bits here and there, but most of what he says is for his own amusement, or it's some sort of cosmic request - like saying "lunch" while he's playing so I'll know he's hungry. Yesterday we went shoe shopping. Jack hates shoe shopping - always has. He doesn't like to get his feet measured. He doesn't like to be messed with. He doesn't like to put new shoes on - none of it. Anyway, I picked out some water shoes to get along with new tennis shoes. I was trying to put them on him. He scrunched up his toes and tried to squirm away from me like he always does. Dh and I work on our team efforts to try on the shoe anyway, and then Jack says,"It's yucky.". I have never been so happy to not buy a pair of shoes. We got the tennis shoes, but if water shoes are yucky then water shoes are yucky.:)

Go Jack Go!

Oh he *so* knows what's going on, E. He's just waiting for the profound moments. LOL

Oh, I know he knows what's going on. I don't question that. I just like verbal communication - really any definite comunication. We do some signing also. Jack is just his own little person I guess. He likes to walk up to us and say,"Hi. It's me, Wyatt." It's completely adorable, but just once I'd like to hear him tell me his name is Jack. He's never ever said that. He'll spell it, but he won't articulate it. Anyway...communication yay!!

I know you weren't. :) I just find it terribly cute that he doesn't say much and pops out with something like that. LOL

Oh yes, very cute :). Dh and I got a chuckle out of it. Dh kept telling me ,"It's yucky, Mommy.", with a big smile on his face after that.
