My 2 month old ds will sometimes both pull on my breast and/or suck for a few seconds and then come off - only to become frustrated and open his mouth again looking for my breast. This usually happens when I feed him after work after he has been at daycare all day. While he is there is obvioulsy bottle fed and they mix my breast milk with formula (only because I cannot pump the quantity that he eats in a day - which is anywhere from 10 - 12 oz in 8 hours). Do you think he is just frustrated because he is used to a faster flow from the bottle? I did give my daycare provider a bottle with a slow flow nipple..but could he still be preferring that over me? :(
He eats fine later in the evening and during his middle of the night meal. I just feel like he either isn't getting enough or maybe he's not getting it fast enough. Has anyone else had this issue?

I should also mention that I pump at 3 before ai leave for work at 5 and he'll eat around 5:30...is that enough time for milk to accumulate in my breasts?

There's no need to wait for the breasts to fill up, not at all, as they're never empty. If babe eats at 5.30 and wakes up and his hungry again at 6? Not a problem, your breasts are there and ready.

And yep, that's what it sounds like to me, he's used to the faster flow of the bottle. Does DCP also feed him slowly, stopping often to burp (much like happens in a nursing session)?

Here's a great linky: bottlefeeding the BF baby (http://www.kellymom.com/bf/pumping/bottle-feeding.html)
