Hi to all of ya! I had a lumpectomy done over a month ago, my daughter is 3 mos. I have had my stitches replaced 6 times ( around half of my areola, lump was middle outter edge, 3mm. and 1 inch from my areola. ) already and they have now popped open again. The milk from breastfeeding has caused a problem in recovery of my breast. If I pump out the milk, it opens the stitches. If I breast feed off of it, it pops open the stitches the only way to go about it is to let my breast milk dry up. I feel like a selfish and horrible mommy. But it has been a very difficult month for me and my whole family and has put a strain on my marriage. I have breastfeed all of my children till they were atleast 1 yrs. old and my first daughter till she was 3. I love to breastfeed I feel that it is very important but I feel I have no other choice. My question to all of you wonderful people is how in the world can I dry my breast up quickly. I'm engorged in my left breast and I have milk leaking from my stitches in my right breast with a dimpling from my lump removal. HELP ME PLEASE!

The only things I know of are puting cabbage leaves in your bra and taking decongestants. Both will help dry up milk.
