Hi ladies,
Maybe you guys can help me.
My hair is falling, im going bald in the front. I'm still on the same prenatal pills I was on while pregnant. Should I just go on regular woman vitamins? Or is there something else I can take for my hair, some other extra vitamin?
Everyone says is normal after labor.. but it's been 4 months and is not getting any better = (

My hair did the same thing until I weaned. Keep taking the prenatal vitamins. Add bioten/biotin. You can get the good doses of it at GNC. Also, use Selson Blue shampoo every day. The active ingredient helps block the chemical that makes your hair fall out.

You also may want to consider getting your thyroid levels checked. I lost hair postpartum with my second and thought it was just the typical postpartum hair loss. While in to see my doc for my annual exam she noticed my thyroid was enlarged and did some tests. Once my thyroid levels were fixed the hair loss reduced significantly. You would likely have other symptoms though such as fatigue, intolerance to cold, weight gain or difficulty losing weight...
Just a thought, not intended to freak you out. probably just the typical postpartum stuff.

I am 5 1/2 months pp and I am still losing hair due to nursing. I went and had my thyroid levels checked and they are fine. But yeah, that is not a bad idea to get it checked.
I stopped taking my prenatals and started back up and it is getting better but i am still losing hair.

I thought that it was just me! My temples have next to no hair on them! My thyroid is fine, so maybe it is from the nursing. My hair is also refusing to grow, but it did that when I was pregnant, too.

I didn't know how to do. But I suggest you ask the doctor. I think that it's very ok. "bp"

I don't think breastfeeding has anything to do with hair loss. If unfortunately you have it then you can try some natural products for hair . Hope this helps.

4- 6 months after I gave birth to my firstborn. my hair was falling out in clumps. The same thing happened after I gave birth to my second child. It's hormone related. My hair fell out throughout my head, but started to regrow about three to four months after. I'm not sure if breastfeeding made the situation worse, but I know when I stopped, at a year with both kids, the hair was starting to get thick again. I would mention it to your doctor, just so he or she is aware of it.

You should consult your gynecologist to know the exact reason for your hair fall.
