What I wouldn't do for $50

I signed up for a new checking account a couple of months ago, and I was supposed to get a $50 gift card for doing so. Well, the card finally came, and dh laid it down somewhere.

Anyway, I cleaned up, went through mail and such, and then two days later I remember the card. I couldn't find it anywhere!

I proceeded to go outside to check the trash can. It was already smelling really bad, so I got my yellow gloves that go up to my elbows and my facial mask that's used for chemicals and such. I knew exactly which bag it would be in, so I took it out. I took every single thing out of the bag (it was a pretty big bag) and went through it twice. (It was the kitchen trash; need I say more?)

The neighbors who rode by surely think I'm a freak. And I never did find the gift card. :tantrum:

I have to admit that I thought of CanadianMom as I was digging through the trash. I remembered her comment about flipping burgers, and I thought, "Yep, a blow job is sounding pretty good about now."

it won't hurt to call the bank and ask. they may be able to track the card and issue a new one.

I did a similar thing a while ago except it was a couple of checks to pay for baseball tickets where several of us went in together. I'd already paid for the tickets and just needed to deposit my friends checks. they were in a couple of envelopes and the envelopes went missing. I dig thru the whole garbage can, even dumped it all out on the ground. I found it though. If I were you, I'd be dumping more of it out and looking instead of just in the one bag. but I'm nuts like that.

Most banks are eager to keep their customers,so I think it might help to call.

Back in the day when I waited tables I lost a credit card slip that was worth essentially $35 bucks. I waded through the trash and found it. It was worth it.
