okay so i'm kicking pop all together. and i used to drink diet pop alot then found out on here how bad it is so i'm trying to quit it. well the past few days i haven't had any pop cause i figure i should just quit it all together. i have been drinking tea one tea a day cause i am use to some caffine and i don't want to stop that all of a sudden. but now i am drained. i feel so tired and my body just feels...well....blah. even though i am getting some caffine still could the quitting pop do that to me?
i drink alot of water, juicy juice in the morning and maybe another here and there later, and milk sometimes, and tea maybe once a day. i drink alot by the way. i didn't know if maybe i'm just dealing with allergies or if it could be quitting the pop. it's been almost 3 days since.

The first time I decided to give up Dr. Pepper I had really bad headaches and felt drained all the time. It lasted about two weeks but after the withdrawal phase, I felt great. I still have an occasional soda (when I say soda, I mean Dr. Pepper) but I don't crave it every day like I used to.

Yeah you are probably in a withdrawal and ti will last for several days I bet. Even with the caffeine. Caffeine isn't the bad thing in soda I don't think. Caffeine in small amounts is OK. But sodas contain a lot of high fructose corn syrup and phosphoric acid which will deplete calcium. You are doing the right thing by giving it up all the way. I almost never drink soda. Maybe once in a blue moon and it's usually just a fruit flavored one not Coke or Dr Pepper.
I applaud you, keep it up! This too shall pass.
What kind of tea are you drinking? Are you drinking it hot or iced?

i'm drinking iced tea. my little one grabs my cup whenever i try taking a drink of anything so i can't do hot! haha! he likes to play with the water on the outside of the cup.
i need the encouragement cause my family all drink a ton of pop! it will be hard. and my mom will always bring home a pop from mcdonalds or wherever so i have been getting my tea from there. it's good and that way i don't get tempted in drinking some of her pop! cause i do.....!
okay well i'm glad it's the pop and not me losing my mind! i hope it doesn't last two weeks. today i was driving and i felt almost like i was having an anxiety attack i felt so weird and drained. do you think it's better to get over the pop thing then get over caffine instead of doing it all at once?

I wouldn't do it all at once but I am not that brave. I also wouldn't give up caffeine completely! I love it! I did give it up for my first trimester but as soon as 13 weeks hit I started drinking half caff! lol When you go through the caffeine withdrawal you will have to do this all over again so it may be easier to do all at once if you want to give it up. That's up to you and your threshold.
I would also suggest a good vitamin. Something super duper. And maybe add some fish oil supplements or some other type of supplement with good omega 3s to help support your body through this.

that's a good idea. i need to take vitamins anyhow....i suck at remembering. but a little extra maybe would help me through right now.
yeah i love my caffine too! that's what is terrible. i love pop! some people like pizza and beer...i like pizza and a cold glass of mt. dew. it's one of my favorite things in the world. but i'm sure i'll have it again someday down the road when i have kicked his addiction completely. all this withdrawl makes me about disgusted though. anything that can do this to your body without having it can not be good for you in the first place!
i really reallly appreciate your advice! this is gonna be a rough way to go for a while.
