If you had frequent spotting on the mini pill while Bfing

Please tell me about your experience with the mini pill while BFing if you had breakthrough bleeding and/or spotting often.

I am curious to hear people's responses too - I am on it - started it about a week ago maybe? I have been spotting (more like lightly bleeding) non stop before I started. I had asked my OB why I had my period at only 2 months pp when I was bfing and she said that periods are very unpredicatble when bfing, but once I started the mini pill that I probably wouldn't get one at all...so i was thinking sign me up! But unfortunateky it hasn't been the case..I have been wearing a thin pad almost every day.

Thats funny that your OB told you that about your periods b/c mine told me I would probably get a period every month while ON the mini pill. However, I did have the same thing as you...bleeding about a week after I started it, then it stopped for a few days, then started again for 5 days, then nothing for about a month, then one day of spotting, then nothing for 3 weeks, then another 4-5 days of spotting/light bleeding...now it stopped again.

it is VERY annoying and I really dont know if this is my AF or not. so, that is why I wanted to ask other people who have been on the mini pill or are on it if they experienced frequent spotting and/or bleeding etc and if so how long it lasted etc? Im about ready to stop taking it.

FWIW, my LO is almost 5 mos and is nursing about 5x a day on average, sometimes once over night, but most nights not at all over night.

I have been on the mini pill since DD was 8 weeks. I had spotting in the beginning but it stopped. I have not has a return of AF yet and DD is 6 months. I did find it messes with my moods a bit and can make me emotional and can be hard to remember sometimes

I was on the mini pill for about 5 months. I didn't have any spotting or bleeding while on it. I came off of it due to it messing with my mood, like jodyvo had stated. It really made me unbearable to be around at times. Since coming off of it, I have had very light, short periods. I can live with that instead of the moodiness. I couldn't even stand to be around myself, ha ha.
