My DD will be 5 months next week. The last week or so her BMs have been green but still "seedy". She goes regularly and it doesn't seem to bother her. They were always yellow before and I'm not sure why the change. Is this normal? Thanks in advance.

Green often means they are getting too much foremilk and not enough hindmilk. If baby is otherwise happy, I'd not worry about it. You could try to feed from first breast longer before switching (if you are in the habit of switching during the same nursing session). You could compress/massage the breast while nursing to encourage the flow of hindmilk.

Are you (hopefully not as it is not recommended this early) feeding your dd anything outside of bm?

The usual suspects for producing green stool are excess of foremilk or being sensitive to something in your diet. Other possibilities are GI virus or reaction to mom's taking fenugreek.

Have you changed your nursing pattern (having gone from one-sided feeding to two, etc) or introduced anything new into your diet in the last week?

Still exclusively BF. Haven't changed nursing pattern have always switched with no problems. Not taking fenugreek and nothing new in my own diet. So it must be the lack of hindmilk. I will try feeding longer on the first side. If it doesn't return to yellow should I be concerned?
