I just cant bear to pump every day this summer, but i am trying. i am getting between 3 and 6 extra oz per day. I am building a supply for my wedding and honeymoon. How much do you think a 11 month and 2 week old will need daily or total for the week? I will be gone completely for only 5 days, but unavailable for all feedings for some other days too.

I was thinking about 5 (6oz) bottles per day for 5 days - 150 oz. MIL says I need to have 8 oz bottles, but I disagree due to my bfing research. So should i make 150 oz as my goal? This is only about 15 oz per week for now, but i dread doing this. I will be ok with giving her some cows milk or even formula if needed. I am just not sure I can give her 100% of mommy's milk.

And i am taking my pump on my honeymoon to pump twice a day and hopefully she will want me when I come back.

I probably wouldn't introduce formula 2 weeks from her birthday, and I tend to avoid cow milk.

By the time she's that age, she will probably be eating more solids regularly. You might try for the 150oz. and for what you're "lacking" in milk, give in solids--healthy stuff, not just carbs--like meats and avocado, etc.

Does the 5-6oz bottles mimic her typical eating pattern?

Is the MIL keeping the baby? That should be interesting... ;)

My parents and she are sharing dd. My mom will have her until Thursday and then bring her to Mils so we dont have to go get her at my parents house (1 extra hour away). I have 48 oz now. and dd never drinks more than 5 oz. I gave 6oz bottles to make MIL happy and she throws away 1-2 oz every time so I went back to 4 and 5 oz bottles and now im not wasting milk. I just dont think she will ever drink more than 6 oz at a time.

I agree with Cheryl I'd make 150oz my goal and then make up the rest with healthy solids.

If she's only drinks up to 5oz then I would only prepare that much for her.

150 oz sounds fine to me, the cow's milk is okay but I would go with goat's milk instead if MIL has to give her something while you're away (other than EBM)
Formula is just so icky tasting! Cow's milk can cause some GI problems, goat's milk is the easiest on their tummies from what I read and hear. I also started giving my daughter goat's milk at 10 mos. I know it was too early, but she tolerated it well.
