While in the hospital with our beautiful Cj, one of the nurses pointed out he might have reflux, he throws his head back and arches his back.....So she recomended cutting out coffee and milk which I have but its still happening.

Does anyone have experience with it, and if so what helped your baby?

I've never seen reflux diagnosed that soon, before milk is even in, by a nurse. May not be relux. True reflux happens despite mom's diet.

Yes it seems early to determine that he has reflux. I would say that if he continues to do it, acts uncomfortable after feedings, etc...then you may worry about it. But until then just enjoy your new baby;)

But FWIW, my kids' reflux was caused by a milk allergy. So I nursed completely dairy-free, including hidden dairy. Milk intolerance/allergy is a pretty big cause of reflux-and it varies in degree on how strict mom has to be with her diet.

But like I said, for now...as long as he's eating good, gaining and not acting like he's miserable....I wouldnt worry about it.

Thank you. Two out of three of my babies had reflux and it would be IMPOSSIBLE to diagnose reflux in the first days of birth, that is the most ridiculous thing I have heard yet!

It is quite possible when certain symptoms have been seen together long enough for a pattern to emerge~ in the meantime just try and enjoy that newborn:)
