Hello All - My husband and I will be traveling from Aug 1 through Aug 4 (flying from East coast to West coast, so a long flight!). I have posted on this topic before because I worried about how to keep momentum going on pumping/milk supply while I'm gone. I think I've figured all of that out. My question now is this - how am I going to get the milk home?? I can see being able to store it while we're away - we'll be staying in a hotel that will likely have a small refridgerator in the room. If not, I'll pick up a small cooler and keep it stocked with ice. But how should I get the milk home? Again, we'll be flying to/fro opposite coasts and it will be a long flight (8 hours including time at airport). Can I bring a cooler as my carry-on bag? (Only allowed one these days, but I can put my ID and some $$ in my pocket and stash everything else.) Has anyone else experienced this? I'd hate to throw the milk away - I pump about 12-14 oz per day - probably more if I'm pumping exclusively, as I will be doing - so this would be 48 - 64 oz total, stored in small bags.

Help!!

Yes, you'll want to look into a collapsable cooler storage bag, you can put your milk in there for your flight and top it off with ice to stay cool.

You might want to check with the airline security though, when I flew to Punta Cana, they made me empty any and all liquids before boarding. You may have to check it in as baggage.

You don't want to freeze your milk because in the event that it starts to thaw, it will all have to be used within 24 hours!
