I used Bravado's washable pads unless I was going out where I need 100% protection against leaks and then it was lilypadz. I bought both at www.nursingmothersupplies.com :)

For the disposables, I do think Lansinoh is the best!:)

I dont use 'sposies b/c im cheap but I did when DS was first born. PLEASE don't buy the curity brand (the cheapies at walmart) they don't breathe at all and gave me horrible thrush!

Another vote for the Lasinoh pads! I buy the 66-count boxes and there is always a sample of baby wipes or breastmilk storage bags inside--bonus!

Gerber cloth pads. Target has them and they very rarely ever leaked on me and I leaked a *lot*.

I love the Lansinoh pads that are coated with lanolin! I use the reg lanolin ones too but dont like them as much. I have also used Gerber disposables - they are less itchy imo. I prefer washables bc they feel best, but they look awful unless your bra is somwehat padded so I usually only use them at night...

I want to try lillypadz, but am too cheap to spend the $$$. Anyone that has used them? Are they more discreet than others? comfortable?

I like the Lansinoh disposables. A little scratchy at first, but otherwise fine.

I've tried the Avent disposables and they're softer but definitely less discreet.

The Gerber cloth pads at BabiesRUs also showed, and leaked often for me.

On another thread I read the LilyPadz work well for swimming, so they must not show much.

I would not wear lilypadz in the pool! They would definitely come off. They are totally discreet! You can literally go braless~wahoo!

Oops now I realize that they were referring to swimwear, but not necessarily swimming. Sorry about that.

I used to like Johnson & Johnson's and still do. I never had a problem leaking through them, but they are a tad bulky. I am now a big fan of Lansinoh's disposables. Much more discreet and they never leak through or wick. After the first few times I used them, I realized they are made kind of like disposable diapers. They have a layer of super absorbent stuff in them that turns into a gel when it absorbs moisture.

I'm a Lansinoh fan as well. I would leak through everything else.

I've tried a variety, but nothing seems just right. Gerber ones are so thin and don't have a sticky on the back, so they are always moving around everywhere. Lansinoh seem to stick to my boobs, but I like their sticky and that they are individually wrapped. Johnson and Johnson are the most comfortable on my breasts, however it looks like I have big elephant boobs are something when I wear them. I tried washables with my first son, but I just got too lazy to keep awshing them. Especially since it's summer I am changing them so much more frequently simply due to sweating!!

I might try those other brand lilypadz that you all suggested...

I've used the cloth ones in the past. I don't know what brand but I do know I have three different brands. Some fit flatter, some give better absorption, etc. I like having a selection to meet my needs! I tried the disposable nursing pads and hated them. They were very uncomfortable.

I never bought Lilypadz since my breast is out so much at the start that I thought it might be annoying to keep putting them back on. Plus, I wasn't sure if they would be itchy to me. I tried some Victoria Secret stick on bras once and they itched too much. (Those were non-nursing). I do have skin allergies so I'll stick with the cloth.

I like the Lansinoh they are more discreet then others but to me they don't hold as much as the Johnson disposable... I do have overactive let down though so they do fill up fast for me... the L. are bigger but thinner and the Johnson is smaller but a little thicker. I want to try the lily padz but if you do your research you will find there are tons that like them but TONS that hate them... I am scared to spend the money to try them and then possibly hate them!

Johnson's are my current favorite...downside is the bulky, nipple in the center look. Other than that, I love em.

I used to buy Curity pads at Wally world. One day I went there, they were out of the Curity ones. So, I had to buy the Johnson's ones...ooh, I'm so glad I switched.

I like the Lilypadz for swimming and that's about it. They are a PITA (in my little opinion) for every day use. In between nursing or pumping, every 2-3 hours, I'd fill up the front of the Lilypadz with my letdown and made a mess on myself a couple of times. I'm not a huge fan of these at all, sorry.

I LOVE the Lily Padz. The last for about 2 months and I have worn them swimming and have no problems. Mine are losing their stickiness and I still use them because the bra holds them on. The are totally discrete. I love that I'm not throwing something away every day.

this has been an enlightening thread!

I have been using Curity because they are the cheapest and I don't leak much at all.... hardly ever.... so I could really use about anything. BUT.... I have been battling thrush for several weeks. It never even occurred to me that it could be due to the pads not breathing. I've got to ditch these things!

I have used Lansinoh and liked them better, but since I hardly ever leak the Curity seemed adequate for my needs.

I do also have a pair of LilyPadz and I love them! We have a hot tub so I use them in there and they never come off. Other than that I sometimes wear them to sleep in because they are so much more comfortable than a bra.

But.... I never leak. So I can see how they may not work well for someone who is a heavy leaker.

Yes, Jodi~ the lilypadz are good for naked sleeping if you want to go braless, it is a nice break.

Now I remember, the reason I got them was in the beginning, I sprinkled like a faucet after a warm shower and couldn't even get dressed without getting milk every where! Besides, my nipples were so tender, just the water hitting them hurt (ouch!) So, I wore the lilypadz in the shower and they did stay secure even while wet!

i had lily padz, but had some issues with pre -thrush ( never really got it, but was sporting symptoms and had major pain/damage issues that never cleared up until i stopped using them. i also foudn that after the first couple of mos they became "unsticky" ( is that a word??lol) i'd have to vote no for me...i won't get them again.

i had some pretty huge oversupply ( mainly because of the damaged side that left a cavern open ...would SPEW anytime i let down on either side...still does...another long story. ;) so most of the time i used lansinoh disposibles when i was out.

i did not like the idea of using sposies all the time for that too ( i had already decided not to cd. ;( ) so i got some Bravado designs washables that worked great for sleeping and at home too. you can get them here ( www.bravadodesigns.com ) their bras and tanks rocked too...

that's my story ;)
