OT-Any kids with ITP?

My DS1 was diagnosed with ITP almost a year ago. It was a very serious case (less than 1000 platelets, spontaneous bleeding, etc) but he recovered within 6 weeks.

ANyway, I was looking at him the other day and realized he has alot more "boo-boos" than his 2 year old brother. And based on their activity/accidents, it should be the opposite. He just seems so bruised up, with a nasty one on his arm that I have no idea where it came from.

I'm just feeling paranoid I guess. Does anyone know about ITP or has experience? Would it be weird for me to take him in and get him checked after all this time? I;ve looked alot on the internet, but never found a message board to join. SO I thought I'de ask here....

I would have it checked. I get it during the end of pregnancy and mine usually improves but it can be very serious, esp if he's bruising easily it should be checked out. best wishes, lisa

Thanks for your reply. I did take him in and his platelets were great-240,000. It was a good thing I got them checked b/c he had an accident last week and got a concussion. Besides being stressed from that, I would have been *beside myself* if I didnt know that his platelets were OK.
