Lately DD, 8mo, has been nursing every.single.hour at night. Yesterday I was feeding her some of my peach and I happened to rub against her bottom gum. I think she has a little tooth poking through. She won't let me look in there but when I feel around for it (I have to really feel around for it) I can feel what I think is the top of one of her bottom fronts coming in...I'm not 100% sure though...I think I'm feeling a tooth! Its this little teeny tiny hard spot I feel on her gum.

The only sign is that she is nursing more and is maybe a bit fussier, more so in the middle of the night. Is nursing more a normal thing when babies are teething? I thought they nursed less?

Since I am not 100% sure its a tooth because she's not showing clear signs that she's in pain I am hesitant to give her anything for it.

I'm not sure what to do! Nothing? Experts help me out!?

My DS is teething and is also nursing about every hour at night after 12:00 a.m. DS isn't always suffering from teething pain so I only give him Tylenol when he is showing signs of suffering from teething pain.

I say if they are not showing signs of teething pain or pain in general then don't give them anything.

Your DD may be teething or she may just be getting ready to overcome a milestone. (Rolling over, crawling, etc.) I'm no expert though so others will have more to tell you.

Here is a site that talks about teething:

Good luck.

Give her Hyland's teething tablets. It's a homeopathic remedy - not medicine, and it will make her feel better. Yes, it sounds like she's teething. My baby nursed round the clock when teething. It's comforting.

Well duh!! I look on kellymom all the time and didn't think about looking up teething!! The first line was "Teething is one of the most common causes of frequent night waking..."

Thanks I'm gonna look into the Hylands teething tablets...im glad to know they are homeopathic! Thats great!

Thx girls.

Jack started cutting teeth at 8 1/2 months. He cut 7 teeth in 2 weeks, and he never seemed terribly unhappy. He wanted to be held and nursed 24/7, so I did that, and I gave him teething tablets. I think it was the combination of nursing and teething tablets that helped him get through it so well.

Nothing has really helped my kiddos except Motrin. That an being attached to me 24/7. I hate teething. DD is working on 2 bottom molars right now...uuuggghh.

We're back on teething tabs full time around here too! These 2 year molars are tough. I love the teething tablets and we gave them every night before bed for several months because Andrew was teething constantly. They work great for us!
