all you need to know about canning- Sasha?

This is what I need. Can someone point me in the right direction? I am looking at making pickles and canning tomatoes. If I ever get enough Strawberries I would love to make jam.

It is the best basic book out there. It will tell everything you need to know, step by step. I've only been canning a few years and I refer to it often.

The first time I canned anything was blueberry jam. I didn't have the book yet, but I followed the directions that came in the package of Certo pectin and it turned out great.

What Elffriend said. It's considered "The Bottling Bible" in these parts. Every woman that has bottled reccomends it.

(And I always laugh like a twelve year old when I hear the title since I tend to transpose it when I read it)

Yep, you have to have the blue bell book. I got mine at my county extension office for $3. It was the best $3 I ever spent.

As a matter of fact your county extension office is a good place to start they will give you more info then you ever thought that you would need.
