He started throwing up this evening. I don't know what is wrong or why he's doing it. He seemed fine this morning/afternoon, playful like always. Ever since he got sick the first time he's just been hanging out in the bathroom, away from everyone (it's kinda loud out here). I put his kitty bed, water and food bowls in there for him and he is relaxing for now. He has thrown up about 5-6 times total but it's been about 2-3 hours since the last time. As far as his behavior goes, he's not lethargic, but he's not playful either. When I go into the bathroom and sit down he gets up and wants me to pet him, but when I stop petting him he goes right back to his bed. Usually about this time of night is when he starts getting really hyper. :(

And just FYI, he is about 5-6 months old. I just got him from the humane society about 2-3 weeks ago so he is fully vetted and up to date on shots. He hasn't been outside, not even for a second, since he came home with us.

My first reaction is to take him to the vet, but that's how I always am. Is this something that I should take him to the doctor for?

ETA~ Oh yeah, I forgot to add, if this is important I don't know, but his vomit is clear. He is drinking a little bit but not showing any interest in food.

My long haired cat will do that when he has a hairball that will not come up...though, it is usually a yellow tint, not clear. I usually will give him some hairball ointment, and he'll be fine. I would keep an eye on him, see if he starts acting worse or if the throwing up gets worse, and then maybe consider atleast calling the vet.

Poor kitty. :( If he's still sick tomorrow, I'd take him to the vet.

I would take him to the vet asap.
Could he have eaten some plants? Some pants are poisonous to animals (and kids)
if eaten or he could have eaten something that has caused a blockage.
Good luck with kitty

Good news! He seems to be feeling fine today! He's running around and playing like always. He hasn't thrown up again since last evening and he's eating and drinking like normal again. Poor little guy definitely didn't feel well though because he slept through the whole night, most of it on my chest. Usually if I let him in the room with us at night he will drive us batty, attacking our feet and pouncing on our heads all night long. But now that he's gotten a good night sleep, it looks like he's all rested up and over whatever it was that was making him sick. I'll be keeping a close eye on him for the next couple days to make sure though.

I'm so glad he's feeling better. :)

He reminds me of a kitty I had named Tigger Roo; she died in 1997.
