I used to work at a small hospital as a floor nurse and I always asked them if I could start a childbirth/breastfeeding education program and they kept telling me "no you are not qualified and you do not have experience." I was an LVN at the time and they said I "had" to be an RN.
FF 2yrs. I got hired here while I was in RN school as a childbirth educator and a breastfeeding educator. I got my RN and CLC a yr. later and NOW....
The hospital I worked for calls my boss and asks use to help start up their childbirth/breastfeeding education program since our hospital is doing so well. I have to go over there today for a meeting to get them started. My name has changed so I do not know if they even know its me. I can't wait to see the look on their faces.
