tongue tied

just found out today my 4 week old little boy is tongued tied pretty bad. is this why my nipples are so sore and we still struggle (ok me, i struggle) through feedings even though his latch is pretty good? is it best to get this clipped?

This most certainly can be why you are having a problem with sore nipples. Discuss this with your pediatrician and research more on this. Here is a link to start:
