I am having twins and they are 1.5 months old. I was breastfeeding them and milk supply was also good. But after 2 weeks I had diarrhea due to antibiotics which I was taking after my C-Section. I saw grastro and he prescribed me another antibiotic (Flagyl 500 mg) for diarrhea. Doctor asked me to stop breastfed my babies for 7 days while taking antibiotics. I was pumping my breast that time (only for 4 days) and last 3 days was worst because I had vomiting due to that medication. So I dint use pump for another 5 days. Now I want to start breastfed them but my breast milk supply is low as compare to before. I want to increase that because I need to feed my twins. Previously my breast was full of milk and there was leaking all the time. Now they are very soft and there is no leaking like before.

Meanwhile I had depo provera shot. That could also decrease the breast milk supply? I heard about fenugreek but how long I have to take that, I don’t know. Please help me how to increase my breast milk supply.

Oh momma, you got terrible advice by that doc. Flagyl is rated L2, which is a safe medication.... oh water under the bridge, right? But please, seek out our ladies here who own a reference book called Mothersmilk and Medication by Thomas Hale a pharmacologist who is leading in colllecting research about medications and their effect on infants, if you ever have to take meds again.

Please read through this link which will tell you everything you need to do to get your supply up again and slowly wean from formula: http://www.kellymom.com/bf/supply/decrease-formula.html
and

You'll need a good pump and could benefit from taking Fenugreek and if that is not helping a medication called Domperidone and if that is not available (not sure where you are in the world) Reglan for a short period of time (a couple of weeks).

Yes, depo provera can have a negative effect on milk production.
