So DH shows up at home from work, and lays the newspaper down in front of me, and says "go post this on the board, your bfing buddies are going to have a hayday with this!"
This is in the town, about a hour from us, where DH went to college, and the town is actually known around here for being very liberal. I was blowing smoke when I got done reading the article and DH told me was as hot about it as I was. In the past he has been so strange about my NIP, but has been so much better with DS, so I was thrilled that he was mad about this!
Katie Lou is sending that Momma a letter, and Mommy and Brody may even take a trip to Berea McD's! :p
Take a look here!

I disagree with asking them to put a sign on their door. But promising to educate their employees on the law would not be unreasonable.
The whole situation is disappointing though.

They were worried the mom would ingest some McDonald's "food" and taint her breastmilk. They were just looking out for her.
LOL! IA with that!

And the local McDonalds should definitely have to pay the $1000-2000 fine!

I can't believe that story. I mean you would think that if the officer knows that there is a law about breastfeeding a child in public that it would over rule being asked to leave.
I don't see what she did wrong and I agree, McD's should be fined for that...maybe then it will wake a few people up out there that breastfeeding is a natural and beautiful thing. We as mother's have been doing this for centuries, why is it now such a big deal.

You would think they would have known better after teh Applebee's incident. Stupid people should have to pay fines!

I agree. I think she would have a lawsuit on her hands if she wanted to sue McD's.

It would be kinda cool to see the breastfeeding logo in the windows of various restaurants and stores, though.

Well, I have a little inside information about this situation, and here is what happened. The manager and other people at McD's were rude to her. So, when something was said to her, she got hot really quick and started mouthing and being irate. (Not sure I wouldn't do the same) So, then when the police got there they were trying to calm down the situation, which was a McD's employee and a screaming lady. The police asked her to leave because she was causing a sceen, not because she was bfing. I think if she had been calm they would not have asked her to leave. Don't read this incorrectly, I think she was in the right bfing her child, but I think she could have maybe handled the employee a little different.
