prefers one to the other, why?

My DS2 who is 3 months has had a problem on and off, but not too often but when I try the right breast he cries and cries and does not want it but as soon as I put him on my left breast he starts eating right away! And it's not because of a fast letdown. And after a bit of eating on the left breast I switch him to the right and he latches on right away!
Why would he be doing that?

Because he knows he can!
Everyone lactating has one breast that is larger, one that has a faster flow, etc. These little munchkins figure that out FAST!
