My family is doing well

I have been a bit anxious about coming up here for our family reunion. My cousin and his wife have a DD who has been in the past extremely difficult to be around. She is a very anxious young lady... to be short simple about it her mom had a really horrible childhood and has spent the last 8 years overcompensating. Crazy spoiled, everyday is much like Christmas and the world revolves around her every whim. She was constantly agitated and anxious to control the flow around here and remain "on top". She had ZERO discipline or structure in her life. My cousin tried, but whenever he tried to teach boundaries his wife pushed him out of the picture... It really tore into their marriage.

Well! it seems they ahve been going to counseling and have been able to pull together and even have DD pulled back to planet earth a bit. It was really hard on me to see my cousin in such a dark place in marriage- he is SUCH a full of life, love and warm person. I had always looked up to him, my entire life, for his passion and energy, such a vibrant person. The past few years that light has been dull.

So, I am relieved. DD is having a wonderful time with her cousin (second cousin I guess?) who in the passed thrived on torturing her to the point of tears an average of every 15 minutes. My family is feeling a great sense of relief over my cousin's spirit having returned.

Sorry I am rambling, I just needed to let it out.

I am glad that they worked it out, especially for the child's sake. It is easier to help her learn new ways now rather than when she is older and more set in her ways.
