Faith's summer sitter will be returning to college soon. We will miss her and I want to give her a little something special. She is 20 years old, junior in college and lives at home. I want something besides cash to say thank you, (the only reason is we give her $15-30 extra each paycheck - kind of like gratuity and I want this to be different, something special from Faith)
I'm usually good at gift buying but this has me stumped. HELP PLEASE!

That would be easy ... I could get her a gift cetificate for "stuff" to decorate. We are lucky to have several state colleges within a short commute. She lives at home and will drive back and forth (15-20 min).

What about calling her mom and asking what her favorite Bath and Body product is? You could get her something from there and a gas gift card.

I'd honestly give cash or an amex or visa card. college is so expensive, even if she is living at home. or a gift card to the college bookstore with some back to school supplies (sounds boring though). If she were staying in the dorm I'd have a lot more ideas.

If she's doing a lot of driving, how about a gift card for gas & maybe one to a place to pick up something to eat/popular college hangout along the way.

Faith keeps me busy - I'm sure with 2 girls you know about it.
Work is crazy and that limits my bf.com time. At home I only get on line when Faith is sleeping and here lately it's just been to shop.
Hopefully things will slow down soon and you will see me more often.

gift certificate for an hour massage.
This is my kind of gift ... of course, this girl is so shy and modest I'm not sure if she would use it.
Still me ... I like the idea of calling her mom. Silly me came here (old habits die hard) :p

What about a gift certificate to the college book store? My step sister goes to school in another state and I was able to buy a gift certificate to the school book store on-line. They mailed it to be and then I put it in a card and mailed it to her. She seemed to really appreciate it.

Gift card to Starbucks.
If she is going to be walking around campus you could get her safety items like pepper spray and a tazer.

Money and gift cards seem so practical so I'm sure I will lean that way. Gas prices are outrageous and that is why we always throw in extra.
Maybe I can put together a gift basket with various cards ...
What do you think?
Insulated bag with snacks and include a monogrammed travel mug and attach a starbucks gift card; include a CD and attach a gas gift card; a daytimer or college planner and attach a card, small picture of Faith and an extra weeks pay.

I'll do some checking ... I'm sure her parents would really appreciate this one. Not to mention it would go to good use.
