So when I as at the pride parade they had those stupid boxes where you fill out your name and phone number for a chance to win a vacation. I never win stuff like that.

I just won a freaken cruise for two for eight days to the Bahamas! Holy shit!
I am in shock. I just phoned my husband and freaked out at him and now I have no one to freak at so I am going to freak out here.

Congrats.

Make sure you read the fine print and that you'll not be charged and/or forced to listen to a sales pitch or whatever.

I agree with JD.. I won a trip to the Bahamas once- but it wasn't all expense paid, we had to pay lots of stuff ugh. It was a really cheap trip though so we just went ahead on it and had a pretty good time.

8 days is AWESOME tho. Have fun.

We need to pay airfare from Vancouver to the states which is $299 a person, and the rest is all inclusive. :D

It's probably a semi-scam. I wouldn't be surprised if everyone who signed up, won. It may not be what I am familiar with, but you have to pay some out of pocket money (quite a bit), have to listen to some time-share opportunity and then the hotel isn't really all that nice.

But, it might be something totally different!

Yeah, this is what happened to me - needless to say, I didn't accept the "offer." No way am I getting suckered into another timeshare!

I used to be a telemarkter who did that time share stuff. I was very skeptical when she called. There is no time share, and its a cruise not a hotel. Also everything that is in the pride festival has to be pre approved by the board of directors for pride, I am sure they were checked out.

Bah. Well we did win. But DH used his awesome powers of googling and found out that it sucks. It is a cruise in the bahamas. It is a shuttle ferry back and forth between flordia and the bahamas. It is normally a two day trip, so you just stay on for four goes. I feel so stupid :( I guess I just wanted to beleive it so bad, we could never afford a vacation like that. I got all excited thinking we could have a "honeymoon".

Oh well. Another time.

We won a trip like that too recently, I told them no thanks. It sounds like the same one but I did not research it.

No doubt! I am going to call my friend who was on the pride board and let her know. She will be pretty angry. If tons of people get suckered by something and link it to pride..
