I drank my milk! lol

I don't pump very often but the other day I decided to try and pump and I only got about 1oz out. I put it in the fridge. well a couple of days later I was feeling a bit engorged, one side was hurting and baby wasn't interested in nursing so I decided to go ahead and try pumping. well I need that container that was in the fridge that my 1oz of milk was in for my breast pump.

So I had to decide what to do with that small amount of milk. I thought, do I freeze it? I didn't want to waste it and I knew baby would not drink it so I went ahead and did it like a shot. I thought it about it for about 2 seconds first and thought, well why not... it is good for you.

so do you think I am gross now? lol

it tasted pretty good actually. having had drank both soy and cow milk before I would say that it is more similar in tasting to soy milk.

I have always wanted to try it but was too chicken to do. No, I don't think that you are gross. It is good enough for your baby why not you?

I drank mine once. I wanted to know what my DS was getting. I still like to taste things before I give them to him to make sure they are OK. Like I tried the Hylands teething tablets and I ate one of his vitamins. I wish I could taste the colostrum I have in now but there isn't enough. but my DS sure doesn't seem to like it!

Guess I'm a freak like that! :D

You're not weird at all.
I had about 3 or 4 frozen bottles left over when my ds was about a year old.
He wasn't wanting to drink it so I used it to make pancakes for my dc one day.
They never knew the difference and I didn't tell them.
Also, when I was first nursing and having letdowns in the bathtub all the time I would catch some in my hand. I tasted it and it tasted like sweet milk. No biggie in my book.

That is awesome! I don't think I would've thought about that.

I have tasted mine too. I was nervous (I don't know why), but it tasted pretty good. Now I understand why ds2 won't touch formula. Formula tastes terrible compared to breastmilk.

I was curious too and tried it. If I drip on my hand or something after pumping I will just lick it off.

I have tried it, and once I used it in macaroni because we were out of milk. Not gross at all. When you think about it, people consume dairy products from cows all the time. This milk is just the milk their bodies produce for cow babies. If that isn't gross, drinking human milk shouldn't be.
