I just don't get it! my baby is 11 months and 1 day and still a very strong nurser but the last couple of days my breasts feel so deflated and she cries at the breast after a couple of minutes and starts hitting me so I switch sides and she does it again after another couple of minutes. we just keep going back and forth like this until she decides she is done.

Is there any chance your period is due? Many women have a supply dip around that time.
Has her latched changed? Is she teething? Have you looked in her mouth to make sure there's no white patches or red bumps or anything unusual that might cause nursing discomfort?
If you think your supply is truly low, fenugreek worked wonders for me. My DD was a very distractable nurser from 4 to 12 months. I would pump a sippy cup for her. I would do breast compressions. I even had to manually get let-down to get her to nurse. Also, some babies going through a nursing strike won't nurse during the day but will while they're half-asleep. So, also try nursing more while she's sleepy or during the night if you co-sleep.

no period yet since she was born so who knows on that. could be teething, you never know. I have been nursing her while sleepy too. I have been getting her up (with out waking her) when I go to bed and nurse her since she goes to bed hours before me, gotta love that sucking reflex.
I do breast compressions too.
I do not offer her a sippy cup other than while in the car if she starts crying, she gets all of her fluids right from the tap normally.
she is nursing during the day time very often still, there just isn't very much milk.

Are you getting enough sleep? Drinking plenty of water? Consuming enough calories? Stressed? Have you tried eating oatmeal?

enough sleep? what does that mean? I have 2 kids I chase around and I am always tired lol water? no but gatorade yes. plain water upsets my tummy lately. I used to eat oatmeal every morning but not lately, I moved onto donuts lol
guess it could be my recent poor diet?

Sleep is really important. If you can't sleep more, can you rest? Down time is a really good thing for your body. Gatorade is a not great substitute for water. You really should drink water. Oatmeal can help boost milk supply.

Your cycle may be starting up, and if so, the supply will dip and then resume normal after a few days to a week.
you mention water making you nauseous, so I'll ask if you are pregnant? cause that pregnancy makes me nauseous.

no period so I guess I don't know for sure or not if I am pregnant but I doubt it. it took us 1 1/2 years and 3 cycles of artificial insemination to get pregnant with baby girl.

I think maybe you are to be getting your period soon. Try Mother's Milk tea. That helped me a lot.
Also dont get to stressed about it, that will cause problems as well.

I'd POAS just for peace of mind (I couldn't do water when pg with DS). Otherwise I'm going to guess it's period related.
