and she is 9 weeks old. I am a little worried that it will decrease my supply.
She sleeps for a 7 hour stretch, but nurses for an hour or so before bed. If she goes to sleep at 7:30 she gets hungry at 3. I will feed her then, and she will get hungry again at 6, and she will nurse on and off for the next 2 to 3 hours. She doesn't wake up if her diaper needs changed either. I am just wondering if it is going to be an issue. We co sleep if that makes any difference.

My dd was just like that. She slept for 6-8 hour stretches from the beginning and that is what she does now. It did not hurt my supply, but I know it can for some. I would enjoy the sleep now it might not last.

If you stay home and nurse her during the day I would just imagine your supply will adjust to her needs, making more in the day and less at night.

I'm jealous..DD still wakes 2-3x a night to nurse. Sometimes more. She's 9mo.

I don't mind feeding her at night, but I guess since she cluster feeds before bed and in the morning it won't hurt my supply. I wake up all the time though, cause I worry that she is hungry, even if she isn't making any noise or stirring.

If she's nursing a lot during the day and tanking up before sleeping, 7 hours is a good amount and nothing wrong with that. If she were to drop off her growth curve and you had a worry about weight, then waking her up to eat would be recommended, but I doubt that is your problem.

oh, and don't worry, in a month or two she'll change her pattern just to confuse you!

I agree with everyone else. As long as she's still nursing every 2-4 hours during the day, this shouldn't affect your supply. Enjoy the sleep!

At her two week appt she was 1 ounce short of a lb over her birthweight, Her 2 month check up is next week. I think she was 9 lbs and 4 ounces at a month, and now she is at 11 lbs. I am not worried then!

mine has been giving me long night stretches for quite some time too (shes 12 weeks now). I was worried about my supply, so if I found myself waking up in the middle of the night to use the restroom or check on her, I try to go down and pump some. I figure it helps the supply for when she does pull the crazy changes on me, but also provides me with some extra for the freezer stash when i return to work (and won't want to wake up to pump anymore, LOL)

Hey enjoy it while it lasts, usually once the teething kicks in you wonder where your good sleeper has gone!

I can always hope she is like her big sister and big brother, teething didn't phase them much at all. I am enjoying the sleep now that I'm not waking up all the time to make sure she isn't hungry. :)
