how much expressed milk to give

I have researched various sites online on the amount of expressed milk to give my baby when I am not with him.
He is 4 months old and about 14 lbs now.
I have been giving 4oz. I was doing that based on his weight.
I was afraid that I was giving him more than I can produce throughout the day, when I am with him to nurse.
Would giving him a set amount of 4 oz via bottle be an issue when he nurses and gets less maybe during the evening when I am usually lower in milk production?

It all depends on the baby. Some babies will become a little demanding and others don't mind the lower volume as long as they get to breastfeed. 2-4 oz is an average amount.
