Diaper changing maddness!!!

My goodness! DS has started tantruming while changing his diapers and it is soooooo hard. He throws a fit and tries to get away something fierce. It is beyond frustrating. I know that it is normal, but how long does this last? He has been doing this for about 2 months now and I see no sign of it slowing down. He just hates his diaper changed no matter what I do. I give him toys, sing to him, talk to him, etc. but nothing works. Sometimes he fights me so hard that poop goes everywhere, I always have to put him on a towel to change poopies. DD never did this, so I am at a loss. Please, oh please tell me this will go away soon!!

It will get better.
I would have to lay my leg over my ds so he would be still.
He did that for several months but now diaper changing is not a problem.

I'm sorry I remember that phase well. Here's something to look forward to.... my son almost 3 and trying to potty learn, now asks to be changed when he has poop.

NEVER EVER did my daughter like her diaper changes. It only got harder as she got older. Luckily, she hated it so much she was potty trained by 18 months...what a relief.
Know, this is only temporary!

Yes, we have been there, too. I would just change them while they were standing up. If it had gotten really bad, I may have switched to pull ups, just for the on and off ease.

UGH I feel for you. I hated that stage!!! I would let him play with the belt on the changing table. He loved the challenge of clicking it together.

Now he has started again but I let him hold the wipes and he likes that.

Thank you for your kind responses. I was so frustrated when I posted because I had just changed poopy diaper No. 2 and he kicked and screamed and flipped over and over like an alligator the whole time. It is like..where is my sweet happy little boy? It is as if he has been taken over by the diaper demon. I have even had to clean up poop behind his ears before after a diaper changing LOLOL Thank you for your support :) :)
