DS is 6.5 months and from like 4mo til now has been DYING to eat anything and everything ...reaching for food ect.

Now that im ready for him to start purees he just doesn't seem to want them.

Anyone else BTDT? but when we are eating, he will try and get our food.

suggestions?

His weight gain has slowed also, not stopped but slowed.

We never did baby food or purees.
Whatever we were eating I just gave baby itty bitty bites and they loved it.
He may just want to taste what ya'll are eating.
Something pureed doesn't have that texture that he may be wanting to try.

He may just be grabbing for food out of curiousity. If he doesn't want to eat it, I would just back off and try again in a couple of weeks.

My dd didn't really take any solids until after she was 1. We would offer every now and then, but she just didn't want them. She was perfectly healthy. Solids aren't necessary at this point in time for your little one.

I thought dd2 was soooo ready for solids. She did not like anything on a spoon, and really wasn't interested in any finger food, either, until she was closer to 8 months. At 13 months, she has just starting "allowing" me to feed her from a spoon occasionally.

Reaching for food doesn't necessarily mean they want to eat. Babies are curious about the world around them at that age and just learning to reach with those little arms so they are! If you are eating something safe for him to try at his age level i suggest giving it a moosh and letting him play with it and if it gets into his mouth no big deal.
