My daughters 2 month appointment is Sept 3, and I was just wondering what to expect at this visit. Does anyone know?

I just did mine a couple weeks ago. It was a pretty normal visit.
They weighed her, measured her height and head circumference. Doctor spoke to me about whether or not she was smiling, tracking with eyes, grasping at things, how controlled her head was, and so on.
he asked how feeding was going and whether I was still breastfeeding or if I had to supplement or had changed to formula.
Then came the vaccination discussion. I beleive there are a total of 6 vax to be given at this appt in the form of 3 shots and an oral one.
We scheduled our next appt.
I think that about sums up what happened at my daughters 2 month check up. hope its helpful.

You should decide before you go in whether or not you want to vax on schedule, vax on a delayed schedule, or hold off entirely on vaxing until your baby is older.

i took my daughter to 2month appt. too and we got three shots (DTaP - Diptheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, vax from Hepatisis and Polio vaccine) and the oral one (sweet liquid squeezed into the inner side of baby cheek).
At this time it is better to get immunization for your child. Well of course it is up to you if you want you child vaccinated but it is safier to have it than not, especially if you will plan to travel some day to tropical country, like we do.
Then nurse could give you the papers about the vaccinations so you know what are they and what reaction they could cause. In our case she was a little cranky first 24 hours and had a fever. And in that case you give a Tylenol for infants and watch your baby more carefully (if there any other reactions). That's it. And the same vaccines are done at 4 month, 6 month and then 14-18 month old.
Don't worry, baby will cry of course but as soon she sees mommy's smiling face she will stop :-)
Good luck!

I just had our 2 month checkup as well - much as the above - weight check, length, head measurment, and then the shots -- he screamed...was not impressed, I tried to nurse him while she was doing it (on dr's suggestion), but he was too upset! Stopped on the drug store on the way home for baby tylenol.
She also told me what he should be doing at this stage...and asked if he was -- ie. making eye contact, smiling etc. and finally how I was doing (my OB did my 6 week check not my regular doctor)
Good Luck!

We pretty much had the same experiences as above. We chose to get the DTap and the Rota and delay the Hep B and the Polio until she is older, so definitely do some research and decide what is right for you. www.thevaccinebook.com is a great website.....neither pro nor con vaccines, just lots of research so you can make an informed decision.

PS: If you do decide on vaccines, pre-med your little one with Tylenol an hour or so before.
