hello everyone and good day to you

i am writing becasue i am nursing my 3 month old and when i went back to work my milk has dropped

i'm working some extra shifts casuse SO has a broken arm and cant work i work in a busy ER and its hard to pump at least once in a 12 hour shift i really don't want to loose my milk but it has dropped dramatically
any suggestions would be great

and any information on fenugreek would be nice as i have been thinking about using it

I know that oatmeal has helped me! I wish you could pump/nurse more. it has to be frustrating. I hope things get better. just nurse as much as you can when you are with baby to make up for lost time. I know it is hard cause you want/have to do other stuff too. hang in there!

I agree with tracylee on the oatmeal.

I, too, work 12h shifts on a busy med/surg/onc unit. You have GOT to find time to pump more often or you're at risk of loosing your supply. Adding another session in somewhere, preferably 2, would be in your best interest. I know how unpredictable our jobs are; talk with your charge nurse/manager on the issue. In a 12-hr shift, you should get 1-2 meal breaks and 2 15-minute breaks. Perhaps your charge can cover for your for 15 minutes.

I don't think it's too late. Up your water, start eating anything with oatmeal (cookies!) and here's your info on fenugreek:

But girl, take hold of your breaks--it's for your baby! :)
