i have been taking it for about 8 months now and i am still nursing.
i started when my son was 2 mo because i was having signs of postpardom depression. my sons dr said it was okay to take, it would just make him drowsy, so i took it at night at first to help us sleep. now i take it during the day and hes doing fine. it took care of the post pardom and i feel alot better in general, like i get less angry so easy.

I was wondering if there might be problems for him when i stop taking it. I dont realy want to stop because it has realy mellowed me out and i dont want to go back to how i was before. I think i might even need a stronger dose, im now taking 20 mg.
im starting to wonder if this might make him need some kind of medication when he gets older

I take lexapro, it's the sister drug to celexa. my kids are fine. I dont think the medication is excreted in the breastmilk in enough amounts to have longterm effects on your baby. Better to check out Dr. Hale's website though.

Let me encourage you to search for Celexa on Dr. Thomas Hale's website:

As an alternative drug, sounds like Lexapro is made from the active ingredient in Celexa, and his site is saying the very little of the medication reaches the infant, based upon new published data.

Lexapro is from Celexa - and will help you feel less tired = inquire about Lexapro with your doctor :)
